We were delighted to receive another “Highly Commended” in the 2013 Business in the Community Regional Awards in June, following our previous Highly Commended last year.
Last year’s commendation was for our business, this year’s commendation was for our MD, Keith Shering, in the Employee Volunteer of the Year category, reflecting his work as chairman of the Peterborough ProHelp group and for the projects he has taken on and delivered.
Here is the official press release:
Keith Shering picks up Highly Commended in Local Impact Awards as part of
Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards
Keith Shering has been recognised for his contribution to Peterborough ProHelp and impact in the East of England as part of Business in the Community’s 2013 Responsible Business Awards.
The Responsible Business Awards are the UK’s longest-running and most respected corporate responsibility awards set up to champion and raise awareness of the best examples from across the UK of business making a positive difference. The Local Impact Awards specifically celebrate companies and individuals who are creating an impact in their local community, through initiatives such as volunteering and inspiring young people with work placements.
Keith was awarded a Highly Commended in the East of England Local Impact award in the London Stansted Airport sponsored Employee Volunteer of the Year category which recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their community through employee volunteering.
Keith was presented by Martin Lyall, Operations Director of London Stansted Airport with the Local Impact Award at the East of England Responsible Business Awards dinner sponsored by Ipswich Building Society.
Commenting David Williams, Business in the Community’s Area Director for the South said: “The Responsible Business Awards shine the spotlight on an aspect of business that very rarely gets much public recognition – and that is its ability and willingness to truly transform lives, communities and society for the better. Our Local Impact Award achievers are at the heart of driving genuine change within local communities. I congratulate Keith on his achievement. We hope his example will inspire many more individuals and businesses to put responsible behaviour at the heart of how they do business.”
